WHO WE ARE

Purabi Cultural Foundation

Purabi Cultural Foundation (PCF) is a community-based non-political, non-religious, and not-for-profit organization, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to cherish the essence of rich Bengali music, culture, and heritage towards diversified and multicultural Australians.

It works in collaboration with its associated organizations including the Purabi Cultural Academy (PCA) as well as other relevant public, private, and community establishments. Furthermore, it is committed to implementing its function in cooperation with existing multicultural language and cultural schools, cultural organizations, and other relevant community-based establishments as well as relevant government departments and agencies at the local, state, territory, and federal levels.

It aims to enhance cultural diversity and cohesion by advocating the Bengali language and culture towards mainstream Australian society.

PCF has adopted an integrated approach in providing a holistic environment to convey the spectacular horizon of Bengali cultural heritage to the next generation through music, workshops, events, festivals, dance, drama, poetry, artworks as well as other innovative media

We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our Foundation is located, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong People, and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waterways. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
